Cuatro LucesHow the site was made

The page is the bay right now.

How we made a concept site for a fictional boat charter: every prompt exactly as it was sent, the steps in order and how long it took.

FOUR LIGHTS · ONE BOATFOUR PICTURES
A classic wooden day boat at anchor on a shallow bay at dawn, under a pink sky.The same boat at midday over bright turquoise water. The same boat at golden hour, in warm low sun.The same boat at blue hour, with two small lanterns glowing on the stern.Generated with AI
The same boat at four times of day. Each light after the first is an edit of the golden-hour picture. Pictures generated with AI.
01 · The idea

One idea, one moment, one job.

The idea is what the page is about. The moment is the one thing built for this business alone. The job is what it does for the owner.

The idea

The page is the bay right now.

It opens in the light Miami has this minute: the page works out where the sun is from the date and the time, the same way the US weather service's sun tables do. Scroll runs the clock on through the next four lights, and the paper tints with them.

The one moment

The same boat at four times of day

Dawn, midday, golden hour and blue hour: four stills of one boat in one framing, lined up exactly. Each light after the first is an edit of the golden-hour picture, sent back as the reference with one change, the time of day. Scroll crossfades them one layer at a time.

What it does for the owner

Book the boat

  • A booking builder: the trip, 1 to 6 guests, a six-week sample calendar
  • The sunset trip timed from each date's real sunset
  • A sample deposit, paid on the card processor's own checkout page
  • A pre-filled text, a call, and open now
02 · The steps

In the order we did them.

Each step says what we did and why. Open Details under a step for the tools and the numbers behind it.

  1. Write the brief before anything runs

Write every prompt out and agree on them before the first picture is made.

  2. Make the anchor

Ask an image model for one wooden day boat at golden hour, seen low from the back corner; every other picture is made from this one.

    Details
    • nanobanana-pro
    • 2K
    • 16:9

Call 01, no reference: one wooden day boat at golden hour, camera low, a three-quarter view from the stern. Every other picture was made from it.

  3. One edit that was not used

One edit redrew the boat's sunshade; it was not used, and it stays in the log so the record is complete.

    Details
    • nanobanana-pro
    • edit

Call 02 re-drew the sunshade frame. The site keeps picture 01, and the three other lights were edited from 01, not from 02. It is in the call log.

  4. Change only the time of day

Send the golden-hour picture back three times and change only the light, to dawn, midday and blue hour, so the boat sits in exactly the same spot in all four.

    Details
    • nanobanana-pro
    • edit

Calls 03 to 05 send picture 01 back and change only the light: dawn, midday, blue hour. Measured by phase correlation at 688 px wide: 0 px shift between all four.

  5. Make the details from the same boat

Send the same picture along for the close-ups too: the stern bench, a view half above and half below the water, and the captain's hands on the wheel, with no face.

    Details
    • nanobanana-pro

Calls 06 to 08 send picture 01 as the reference for the stern bench, the over-and-under shot and the captain's hands at the wheel, with no face.

  6. Compute the sun instead of filming it

Make no video at all: the page works out where the sun is in Miami right now and opens in that light.

    Details
    • JavaScript
    • NOAA equations

No video was made. The page computes sunrise, sunset and the sun's height for Miami from NOAA's general solar position equations, and no weather or astronomy service is called. A script in the head picks the current light before the page body loads and fetches that picture first.

  7. Serve light pictures

Save the pictures small enough to load fast on a phone, with a tighter crop around the boat for small screens.

    Details
    • WebP

WebP at quality 68 to 72: 18 to 76 KB for the phone crops (4:3 around the boat), 33 to 155 KB for the full desktop frame.

  8. Audit

Check that the page runs smoothly on a slow phone, and fix what turns up: here the made-up phone number matched another demo's.

    Details
    • frame timer

Frame time 16.7 / 17.6 ms at a 4× slower CPU, the same as with motion off. One fix: the fictional phone number matched another demo's, and was changed. Speed and accessibility scores for this site were not recorded.

03 · The calls

Every prompt, exactly as sent.

A call is one request to an AI model: the words, plus any pictures sent with them. Each prompt is copied from our records, never retyped, beside what it made. The exact settings sit under each one. One call made a picture the site does not use: it is listed, and its prompt is left out.

Call 01: Golden hour: the anchor

A picture, from words alone

A classic wooden day boat at anchor on a sandbar at golden hour.Generated with AI
Made: picture 01The golden-hour light, and the reference for every other picture (cropped closer on phones).

Nano Banana Pro, an image model, made this picture from the words below alone.

The prompt, exactly as sent

Photograph, 16:9. A single 30-foot classic wooden day boat at anchor on a shallow sandbar in a wide tropical bay: varnished mahogany deck and trim, white hull sides with no lettering, a white canvas sunshade on four thin steel poles, cream vinyl bench seats, a low chrome windscreen, a small stern ladder. Exactly one boat. Three-quarter view from the stern-left, camera low at 1.2 metres above the water, 35mm lens, the boat filling the middle third of the frame, anchored facing right. The water around it is shallow, clear turquoise over pale sand, with soft ripples; a thin line of distant green mangrove shoreline on the far horizon, no buildings, no skyline. Golden hour: low warm sun from the left, long reflections of the hull on the water, warm light on the varnish, a soft cool shadow side. Natural colour, true to life, editorial travel photography, sharp focus on the boat, gentle depth of field on the far water. No people. No text, no letters, no numbers, no logos, no flags, no watermark anywhere.

Call 03: Dawn

A picture, from words and an earlier picture

The same boat at dawn, under a pink sky, on glassy water.Generated with AI
Made: picture 03The dawn light.

Nano Banana Pro, an image model, made this picture from the words below and the picture sent with them.

Sent with it: picture 01, golden hour: the anchor.

The prompt, exactly as sent

Using the reference photo: keep the exact same boat, the same camera position, the same framing and the same sandbar — change only the time of day to dawn, 20 minutes before sunrise. Sky soft pink to pale blue, the sun not yet visible, glassy water with a thin low mist over the bay, cool diffuse light, the varnish catching a faint pink glow. Nothing else changes: the same single boat in the same position with the same sunshade, no people, no text, no letters, no numbers, no logos.

Split-level over-under photograph, 16:9, half above and half below the waterline, taken beside the same wooden day boat as the reference: the top half shows the boat's varnished hull and white sunshade against a clear blue sky; the bottom half shows the underwater view — the boat's hull from below, its anchor line running down to a sandy bottom with sea grass, a small school of silver fish, sunlight rays in clear turquoise water. The waterline crosses the frame horizontally just above the middle, with a clean dome-port curve. No people, no text, no letters, no numbers, no logos.

04 · The log and the time

Every call, and how long it took.

The log lists every call, used or not. The times come from the log and our saved versions, and say so where they are estimates.

One line per call, in the order they ran. Seven made a picture or film the site uses; one did not, and it is listed anyway.

Time

38 min

To make every picture, on 21 Sep 2026.

Details

From the first still to the last: 22:16 to 22:54 UTC, 21 Sep 2026.

1 h 40 min

From the first picture to the site's first working version.

The build itself, as written in our register. Not timed.

05 · The honest line

It took more than one prompt.

Eight prompts, seven of them sent with the first picture as the reference, one of them not used. Then the work no prompt does: the sun computed in the page, four lights crossfaded by scroll, the booking builder and an audit.
