Refit and haul-out yard, Miami River
Out of the water is the only place a hull tells the truth.
Bring her in. We lift her, walk round her with you, and put right only what she needs.
Book a haul-outThe lift, the wash, the walk-round.
Our travel lift takes boats up to 60 feet. She comes out, gets pressure-washed and goes on stands the same morning, and you walk round her with the surveyor before anyone prices a job.
Strip, fair, prime. In that order, every time.
We take the old coatings down to sound laminate, fair the topsides by hand under raking light, and prime the same week so nothing sits open to the river air.
- Stripto sound laminate
- Fairby hand, raking light
- Primethe same week
Tap her. Listen.
Sound laminate rings. Wet laminate thuds. Tap the hull; the chalk circle is our dead patch.
A surveyor sounds a hull with a hammer. Sound laminate rings. Wet or delaminated laminate thuds. Tap the hull anywhere; the chalk circle is where ours found a dead patch.
Tap the hull.

Four jobs you should not let any yard sell you
- A full re-core when the hammer found one patch.
- A topcoat over topsides that were never faired.
- New anodes before you have seen the old ones.
- Antifoul on a bottom that has not dried out.
A colour is not a colour until you have seen it at six in the evening.
Pick a topcoat. We show it on your hull at first light, midday, golden hour and under the yard floods, because that is where you will live with it.
Topcoat: Flag navy
Anodes are cheap. What they protect is not.
They wear away so your shafts and props do not. We show you the spent ones.
Zinc and aluminium anodes wear away so your shafts, props and trim tabs do not. We change them at every haul-out, or sooner once they are half gone, and we hand you the spent ones before we fit the new.
